The photograph of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari at the Lagos State interdenominational thanksgiving service standing with his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo; the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and Governor Babatunde Fashola on the front row says something about the APC flag-bearer.

There have been murmurs about his donning a cap in church – that he is a Muslim disrespecting Christian tradition. For me, his forgetting to take off his cap shows he has yet to fully master the nuances and rituals of spaces he is treading for the sake of his political ambition. If I were a Christian, I would pardon him.

What is not so easily dismissable in the photo-op, however, is much more telling than his cap. In the picture, all the aforementioned men had their wives by their sides except Buhari...

For a man who preaches “change” and desires to rule a country made up of men and women in almost equal halves, I wonder why he finds the anomaly of an “invisible wife” wholesome. Interestingly, this is not the first time that Mrs Aisha Buhari would be left behind in her husband’s aspiration.

In 2003, she was not prominent when he lost to Olusegun Obasanjo’s “moonslide.” Four years later, not much had changed though one could argue that his biggest opponent, Umaru Yar’Adua, did not “use” his wife to campaign either. In 2011, when the presidential election was on, I asked one of Buhari’s closest aides where Mrs Buhari was and why she was practically unseen in her husband’s campaign efforts.

Ini Edo husband speak up on having third wife

Phillip Ehiagwina, the ex-husband of Nollywood actress, Ini Edo has debunked report making rounds that he is about to remarry for the third time.

According to the report, Philip had moved on after his divorce to the actress and was set to marry a Nigerian lady based in Accra, Ghana.
The lady was said to be one of the major reasons that Philip abandoned Ini in Nigeria and relocated to Ghana to be with the lady and that before the first quarter of this year would be over, he would solemnize his union with her.

The potential Danger as PDP gets desperate to win Presidency

If what is going on now in the political landscape is anything to go by, Nigerians should guide their loins for the danger ahead as PDP leaders get desperate over next month Presidential elections. There is total disquiet and confusion in the House of PDP as events of 2015 draw near, and the centre can no longer hold in the house of a party that once described itself as the biggest party in Africa.

I have alerted Nigerians during the formative stages of APC that PDP will not go down without a fight, given the unparallel attacks and bombs thrown at the progenitors of APC in those days. A party that says it will rule Nigeria for 60 years is now gasping for breath and fighting for survival. How are the mighty fallen? More than 70 branded Hiace buses were to be moved from Kaduna to Kano for Jonathan's campaign but no driver volunteered to drive any of the vehicles for fear of the power of the people.

PDP was supposed to pick a powerful northerner to head President Jonathan's campaign organization but no serious person had the courage to pick the job. Open the pages of newspapers, you will see endorsements and endorsements for APC candidate Buhari. The house called PDP is giving way gradually, it is going down gradually, it is collapsing systematically and it is sinking slowly.

In Port Harcourt yesterday, during the flag-off of Buhari’s campaign, one person was feared dead and many others seriously injured when armed youths shot at vehicles moving supporters of the APC to the venue. 

In Lagos, PDP has been training thugs in the name of FERMA, importing arms, and arming them for the task ahead. In the Niger Delta, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, Tompolo, Chief Edwin Clark, and others are importing huge arms—also with stolen money—for the showdown if President Jonathan fails to make it on February 14. Across the country, stories of arms build-up and training of thugs are filtering in.

Buhari of 2003, 2007, and 2011 is no longer the same as Buhari in 2015. Buhari in 2015 has become dynamite, explosive, a game changer, a fortress, a smoking gun, an avatar, the numero uno, the political bulldozer, the caterpillar. Machine gun, a hurricane and a colossus. To ignore the movement now is to play to the gallery, to dismiss his build-up now is to lie to yourself, and to set aside his potential now is to be economical with the truth. Calculations, equations, and permutations have changed and they are turning almost 360 degrees. It is a complete turn around. The momentum is there. The speed is there, the dynamism is there and the force is there also.

As things stand APC needs to wake up to devise ways to protect its members and teaming supporters. The potentially dangerous elements in PDP and their agents have nothing to give Nigeria now except agonies, tears and blood. Having decimated and desecrated a promising country PDP is now ready to give Nigerians serpents instead of fishes, stones instead of bread and urine instead of water. A Punch Newspaper editorial of December 23, 2014 captured it explicitly: “It is sad to note that there is an instinctive conclusion among the Nigerian public that the Jonathan government is the most financially corrupt, fiscally irresponsible, politically insensitive and socially disconnected in Nigerian history. It is all evident that President has failed badly to build a credible, honest and minimally effective government for almost half a decade that he has been president. This is regrettable indeed.”

The big girl, who has been living large and thus making others around her look like they are lazy or don't know how to hustle, was sentenced on January 6th after pleading guilty to the crime.

If not that she pleaded guilty, the judge would have handed her a longer jail term. Other fake babes, learn!

Nine govs shun Jonathan campaign launch

Nine governors of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday shunned the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Organisation of the party in Abuja.

The organisation, headed by a former National Chairman of the party, Senator Amadu Ali, is saddled with the responsibility of selling the candidature of President Goodluck Jonathan and his deputy, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, to Nigerians for the February 14 presidential election.

But only a handful of the governors were in attendance.

Among the governors at the event were Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Isa Yuguda (Bauchi), James Ngilari (Adamawa), Babangida Aliyu (Niger) and Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe State).

However, governors Theodore Orji (Abia), Dr. Olusegun Mimiko(Ondo), Sullivan Chime (Enugu), Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Martin Elechi (Enugu) were absent from the inauguration.

Also absent at the inauguration were governors Idris Wada (Kogi), Ibrahim Shema (Katsina), Sule Lamido (Jigawa) and Jonah Jang (Plateau).

One of our correspondents saw many of the party bigwigs discussing the development, especially when some of the absentee governors were put in charge of the campaign in their zones.

Lamido is saddled with the responsibility of coordinating the presidential campaign in the North-West, Mimiko is in charge of the South-West while Orji is to head the South-East zone.

No reason was given for the absence of the governors.

However, the President later met behind closed doors with the PDP governors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, which was also attended by ministers from states where the PDP was not in charge was meant to strategise ahead of the presidential campaign.

The parley was held immediately the President and the governors returned from the Legacy House, Abuja where his campaign organisation was inaugurated.

Some governors such as Chime and Elechi who were not at the PCO inauguration, also attended the meeting.

The Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, later told State House correspondents that the President had made the governors the coordinators of his campaign in their respective states.

Akpabio boasted that despite the noise from the opposition, the PDP would win at all levels.

While saying that the PDP would not rig the forthcoming elections, the governor claimed that it was the All Progressives Congress that could attempt to rig the election.

“There cannot be failure. The PDP will surely win this election at all levels. PDP does not rig. We can only be afraid that the APC, the way they are going, will be the ones that will attempt to rig us out,” he said.

Meanwhile, members of the president’s campaign organisation led by Ali, swung into action as they held their inaugural meeting at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
